Welcome to The Cantorbury Tales, a how-to for church cantors and all peoples by Dorothy (The O.G. Cantor) and Nikki (The Newbie Cantor). Check out our witty how-to podcast and YouTube channel for the voices of the people by voices of the people. A one stop destination for all things cantor!

We’ll be talking through and teaching how to cantor a mass, how to rehearse, how to prepare for a mass, and how to physically/spiritually lead a congregation through song. Plus, we'll have surprising stories, tips and tricks, rehearsal tracks, and interviews with organists, music directors, priests, and other cantors. Get ready for the how-tos of cantor-ing...and beyond!

 

When Nikki (The Newbie Cantor) began preparing for her new cantoring gig in December 2023, she realized that it was way too difficult to find cantoring information, helpful content, and community. There's some great stuff out there, but it's not complete and certainly not easy to find. After digging around the internet and realizing that this could be solved by a fabulous podcast, YouTube channel and connection with other cantors, Nikki approached her dear friend Dorothy (The O.G. Cantor). Now with their powers combined, they forge ahead to connect our awesome church and cantor community on The Cantorbury Tales.
